Abstract

GARCIA ROTGER, Carmen Elena. Lika Mutal, the stones and the eye that cries of the Dutch plastic artist who fell in love with Perú. Estúdio [online]. 2017, vol.8, n.20, pp.149-159. ISSN 1647-6158.

The work of the renowned Dutch artist, Lika Mutal, is defined by the awareness and experience she develops with stone. One of the most important elements of her work is Land Art, as she has constantly used the framework and materiales of natura and stone as part of a desire to recover the notion of "sacred" in relation to the earth. Lika Mutal lived most of her life in Peru, where she discovered her vocation for sculpture. Mutal studied plastic arts at the School of Art of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in the seventies.

Keywords : stone; sacred; nature; desert; quantum physics; sculpture; spiritual; pachamama; Andes.
