Abstract

LOPEZ LOPEZ, Marta. Ana Riaño: Social Media and Post-Internet Art. Estúdio [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.23, pp.38-45. ISSN 1647-6158.

This article puts on record the impact of social media on art, as an object of interest and analysis, taking into account the context of global hyperconnection in which today's society is located. In parallel, this subject of study is presented through the pictorial work - in traditional media- by the Spanish artist Ana Riaño, who recreates real or imagined profiles of different international contemporary art players on these network platforms. In this way, the role of the artist as a portraitist of the spirit of his/her time is emphasised once again.

Keywords : painting; social media; post-internet art; offline; zeitgeist.
