Abstract

CUETO-PUENTE, Maria Jesús. Gravitational shape and space in the work of José Zugasti. Estúdio [online]. 2019, vol.10, n.27, pp.30-40.  Epub Sep 31, 2019. ISSN 1647-6158.

This paper will focus on a selection of projects realized by the artist José Zugasti (Eibar, 1952) that defines his trajectory as an artist and as an sculptor in the public space. Gravitational shape and space are the central axis of his plastic research. He uses the circle, the line and the iron as a repetition structure, ocupation of the space, order / disorder and dynamic equilibrium of a gravitational chaos adrift that formulates new expressive and polysignic challenges in a constant dialogue with the environment.

Keywords : sculpture; space; shape; line.
